Spendrups is a Swedish family-owned brewery that develops, produces and sells beer, water, soft drinks and cider, built on a clear set of values and a culture of genuine engagement and a will to develop and learn.
Spendrups' strategy is to be an attractive workplace where employees thrive, which requires continuous and easily accessible learning. The previous platform was outdated and all administration was handled in Excel, which made follow-up and new training difficult, while many hourly employees needed simple access to the material.
"We had a system we weren't very happy with, we hadn't worked with learning the way we wanted to," Spendrups says of the starting point. When choosing a new system, it was essential to find a solution that matched their current needs while also being able to grow with the company going forward. Learnster fit well: a user-friendly platform that makes it simple to create, take part in, follow up on, and analyze learning.
A large part of the work involves mandatory compliance training, such as food safety and hygiene, workplace environment and safety, and forklift certification. In Learnster, Spendrups can administer this easily, and both employees and managers can see that everyone has the training they need, not least within supply chain operations where compliance is a big part of everyday work.
Since launching in mid-March 2026, Spendrups has built an entirely new onboarding program for all employees, which every seasonal worker has completed digitally. Feedback has been very positive, subject-matter experts across the organization want to build more courses of their own, targeting has improved, and following up on certifications and requirements has become easier.
Spendrups also highlights the partnership with Learnster and the work with AI: "What I find rewarding about the partnership with Learnster is that it feels like we're truly working as one team, testing, developing and learning together." With AI, Spendrups has already been able to create training content in new ways, and looks forward to Learnster's continued AI development of the platform.
